Blissful Piss in the Wind

You’ll walk into the room and

strike it down,

with a few syllables you found

just lying around.

And I’ll stand the quick-triumphant,

and laugh till I cry.

See a sundown that plays the by and by

—you sigh—

I’ll catch all your sighs.

Intertwined: a tangled

goodbye in the

summertime.

Line up the women: we stop

to find and retrace the steps

back to a bandage I kept in

place around a heart.

Afraid,

to step up and out,

and claim what it

needs to bleed.

Live, love and breed:

a distant feeling,

left in the wind;

a ration of insight for me

splashing back on

my old runner’s knees.
