Damn, Man, I Wrote a Girl Who Rains

Heat lightning flashes like hiccups in the sky

Bit-in teeth, a black breath caught, two

Lungs—set to chew air.

Poured out of self, a bruised cloud, a verse I

Seized, overheard; she wrenches at my touch

And rains like I wrote her.
