I’m Sorry, I Bleed

Lecanto Jail (C.C.A., 2009)

Neon shifts on the hood, changing ever slight,

seen rarely, from above.

This path alone believes

the said, the said retract.

A constant light, we breed—

in eyes, lips, shoulders and knees.

I’m sorry, love,

I bleed—I bleed.

I bleed

when I cry.

Love:

my neon light,

my subtle shift from bed

to the night’s sigh.

I bleed—

I bleed when I cry.
